The New Zealand Geotechnical Society’s 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held on Thursday 5th December 2024 at 5.30pm.

You are encouraged to join the AGM and vote to confirm the appointment of new Life Members and our proposed budget for the next year.

You can attend the AGM in-person in Wellington, at the Engineering New Zealand, Level 6, 40 Taranaki Street, WELLINGTON, or online via Zoom.

You may find the AGM documents for your perusal prior to the AGM on https://www.nzgs.org/notice-of-agm-2024 .

Once registered, you will receive a Slido link for voting, which we will use for collecting online votes.

The AGM will be followed by the John Jaeger Memorial Award Lecture “Geotechnical variability: In the ground and throughout a career” presented by Emeritus Professor Mark Jaksa – School of Architecture and Civil Engineering at the University of Adelaide, Australia.

This presentation presents three aspects of geotechnical engineering research that have been conducted throughout the author’s career and concludes with a brief treatment of the use of physical models in teaching.
